"We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal; that they were endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Thomas Jefferson
Everyone recognizes these words from the Declaration of Independence. They captured in a phrase the spirit of freedom that these young Americans so strongly desired. Think about the power in the phrase, "all men are created equal". It is the essence of the attitude of the brave men and women who sacrificed so much to pass along a nation that would be free from tyranny.
I am convinced that few Americans today believe in the cause of the Revolution. For instance, they could not - without a healthy dose of hypocrisy, believe in a Creator that gave the unalienable right to life while at the same time aborting their babies. You might say, "But I do not abort my babies", and that is true enough. But, you and I live in a nation that requires every tax payer to pay for the abortions of other people's babies.
So we have to admit that the vast majority of people do not believe in the premise that all men were endowed by their Creator with the unalienable right of life.
We also have permitted our leaders to require by law that we all take part in something they call, "Affordable Health Care". They say this is for our good and passed a law to ensure that we take part in it. They make us pay for, among other things, sex-change operations for men who are feeling like women and for women who are feeling like men. They make us pay for the penalties of those who abuse drugs and alcohol, even if we never touch the stuff. They make us pay for men and women who love their wicked lifestyles more than the babies they have conceived to kill those very babies.
So we have to admit that we no longer believe in the Founder's premise of the unalienable right of liberty because we are allowing our representatives - men and women whom we put in office to serve us - to convince us to give up this liberty. And they threaten us with prison if we don't!
All that is left now is the belief that all men are endowed by their Creator with the right to pursue happiness. To our shame, we have to admit that this is all that is left of our once noble nation... because a people who would kill their own babies so that they could be happy... and a people who would incessantly pursue perversion to the point that they would vote to have other people pay for their evil desires that make them happy... and a nation filled with people who think that it is okay to pay for wicked people to be wicked... is clearly a nation that has an animal-like obsession for happiness.
But let me say this: Such a pursuit of happiness is not from the Creator!
I believe that it is time for a change. I believe that our Founding fathers were superior in thought and action to the miserable men and women who would lead us today. I believe that we have these miserable leaders because we will not accept men and women of integrity anymore, because we are pressured in society to believe that anyone with an open belief that God's way is right is somehow sick and depraved.
I am tired of that type of perverse thinking, and I believe that you are too. So let us do something about it. Let us once again prefer Christians for our leaders. Let us return to the Founder's belief that all men were created equal and were endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. And let us take back these unalienable rights before it is too late and we become enslaved to our own depravity!
More than anything else, let us return to our Creator! Let us, in repentance, humbly beseech His forgiveness and His help. For a nation that is on the path that America is now on is a nation that is heading for destruction. I believe that our children and their children should have the same rights that we had when we were born. Let's give them a nation to be proud of!
Let us return to God while we still can!
"This is what the Lord says: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'"
Jeremiah 6:16, NIV
