The River of God

“You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water” Psalm 65:9, ESV

Our wheat that was looking so promising just a month ago was starting to look a bit sad. The tumbleweeds had already started to tumble and it was beginning to look like another one of those dry years that we have had so much of lately. And, while it may prove to be another dry year yet, today we had rain.

Today, we had rain! It has a wonderful sound to it! It speaks of hope and refreshment and blessing!

One of the things that I love about being a Christian is that there are no droughts other than those of our own choosing. So, if you obey the biblical imperative of doing your best, your life will never experience a drought.

Now, I’m not saying that there will not be periods without rain on the land, nor am I saying that nothing bad will ever happen to those who follow Christ. What I am saying is that those who seek Jesus with all of their heart, and then serve Him in the same way, will never lack for the rich blessings that God has reserved for His children. “Why is that?”, you may be wondering.

It’s because the river of God is full of water!

And, as if that wasn’t enough, today it rained!

“And I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.”The words of God as recorded in Ezekiel 34:26, ESV
