A Fairy Tale (Or is it?)
Once upon a time there was a man who had a good friend. One day, the friend did a great injustice to the man. In his anger, the man declared, "I would sooner go through the very gates of Hell than to ever speak to him again"... and so he did.
We must be firm in our determination to never hold a grudge. God's word promises that we will be forgiven only as we forgive others. How can we fail to forgive others after our Father has forgiven us and Christ gave Himself up as a sacrifice for our sins so that we might be forgiven?
Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
Leviticus 19:18, NIV
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15, NIV
